Awesome Features For Editors in TYPO3 v10
TYPO3 v10 has introduced many new features as well as improvements to existing features.
For now, Let’s checkout one-by-one major features that will help TYPO3 editors as follows.
#1 Dashboard
The most-awaited feature of TYPO3 - The Dashboard since the 20+ years of history of TYPO3.
A dashboard has been introduced that shows important system information to the currently logged-in backend user.
Users can create their own dashboards and add, remove, and re-arrange "widgets". Developers can build custom widgets as extensions.
#2 Improve File Links
Files can now be sorted by their metadata title in the "File Links" content element.
#3 Link Handler
A new link Handler has been added that lets backend users set links to phone numbers using the tel: protocol.
#4 SEO Sitemap
EXT:seo now supports change frequencies and priorities for the Sitemap. Page properties (tab "SEO") feature two new fields.
#5 Create New Form Wizard
#6 Slug Updates and Redirects
When backend users change the URL path of a page (the so-called "slug"), the old URL becomes unavailable. This possibly results in a "page not found" error for this page, including the URLs of all sub-pages.
option 1: Slugs for all sub-pages are automatically updated
option 2: Redirects from the old to the new URLs are created
Backend users are informed about these actions and they can easily roll back the changes with a click of a button if required:
#7 Hide/Show in Menu
A new entry was added to the context menu to show/hide pages in the menu.
#8 Fileadmin Existing File Upload
#9 Validate External Links
Now content editors can validate external links as they add them—also in the rich text editor. This small detail ensures a better end-user experience with no dead links.
#10 Pagetree Accessibility
Backend users can now use their keyboard to navigate through the pagetree. For example the arrow keys, "home", "end", "enter", "space", etc.
